Jose C. Clemente
Jose C. Clemente, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department
of Genetics and Genomics, and in the Department of Medicine, Division
of
Clinical Immunology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. His
research focuses on characterizing the microbial communities that are
harbored in the human body and in the development of bioinformatic
tools for the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data. He received
his Ph.D. in 2007 at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and
Technology, and did his postdoctoral work with Drs. Takashi Gojobori
(National Institute of Genetics) and Rob Knight (University of
Colorado). His lab at Mount Sinai is currently working on building
more accurate models of the microbiome in IBD and food allergies, as
well as developing tools to analyze multi-omics data for these
diseases.
