I have a diverse research program at the interface of computational and functional genomics, with a focus on the interaction between function, variation, and evolution. Ultra-high throughput sequencing (UHTS) is our data engine of choice on both Illumina and SOLiD platforms. UHTS technologies are revolutionizing functional genomics and population genetics, and we have developed molecular biological as well as computational approaches to data generation and analysis. Our goal is to construct genome regulatory networks of mammalian cells and organisms, and to understand how regulatory variation (in regulatory regions or in proteins) perturbs or extends such networks.
